Flash Development
Adobe Flash is software used to create animations found on websites. If you see animated graphics or a website intro movie, it's probably done with Flash. Although Flash can look great and may razzle dazzle visitors, there are some drawbacks. Some of today's mobile devices, such as the iPhone and iPad are not flash capable. So before you go making big plans with Flash, just keep that in mind. There is opposition from Apple regarding Adobe Flash and therefore Apple will not enable flash on their products. If a website uses flash, it is important that there is a back-up plan in place for devices that don't show flash. Most time developers can simply show a static graphic or photo if flash is not supported on the device so the user at least sees something.
Another argument against using flash on websites is search engine factor. Search engines cannot read flash. Flash is literally a little movie file. Search engines can't read those movie files. So if higher search engine rankings are important, flash may not be the best option...or at least used minimally. For instance, maybe we can animate your logo and it won't effect search engine rankings much because it is minimally being used. If the entire website is built in flash, it almost has literally no chance of being indexed in a search engine without major off-site optimization.
