If you had told me that a book from Ollie's Bargain Outlet back in 1999 would change the course of my life, I probably would have laughed. That book was HTML — I taught myself how to be a web designer and captured a vision of helping local companies succeed online. The early days were humble: I ran the company out of my small brick starter home in Ephrata, eventually converting our storm water cistern into an office because I had literally run out of room.
- 1999 Taught myself web design from an HTML book — and started helping local companies get online
- Early 2000s Ran WebTek from a starter home in Ephrata, PA — door-to-door web design while juggling a full-time job
- 2005 Went all in — left 15 years of stable income to build WebTek full time; first employees followed within months
- Today A team of ~20 designers, SEO strategists, and marketers in Lancaster, PA — 2,000+ businesses served; mentorship chapter with Alexa and Clayton on the team

Why I Love Web Design
Watching WebTek grow into something I never fully envisioned in that early basement office — a second-generation family company — has been incredible. My daughter Alexa and my son Clayton both joined the team right out of high school and have become absolute rock stars in their own right. Stepping back into mentorship and leadership might be the most rewarding chapter yet. And becoming a grandpa is a daily reminder to work hard, make memories, and leave my small area of the world a better place.

Outside of WebTek, I love spending time at our family's lake house in the Poconos. When Lancaster winters get too cold, I enjoy warm-weather getaways like Sarasota, Florida. I enjoy a competitive game of pickleball, time with family, and being outside in nature. I recently became a licensed REALTOR® with True Point Realty in Lititz — because apparently I'm not great at sitting still.
