Setting Up Email On Your Android Device
To setup your Android device to send/receive email, you must already have the email account created in your Control Panel. You will need the following information to continue.
Required Information
- Username: user@yourdomain.com (your full email address)
- Password: use whatever password you were assigned
- Incoming Mail Server: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your domain name)
- Outgoing Mail Server: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your domain name)
- Authentification: The outgoing mail server will require password authentication to send mail. The incoming does not.
Troubleshooting/Additional Notes
To troubleshoot/edit/check settings, go to Menu > Settings > Accounts > Email > Settings, and select the corresponding account to edit. The most common settings in addition to what is covered above are shown below:
More Settings > Outgoing Mail Server Settings
- Security Type: SSL (Accept all certificates)
- Server Port: 465
- Username: Use your FULL email address
More Settings > Incoming Mail Server Settings
- Security Type: SSL (Accept all certificates)
- Server Port: 993
- IMAP Path Prefix: Leave blank
Security Options
- Encrypt All: Yes, if problematic select No
- Sign All: No
- Key Management: None
Setting up email on a Samsung device
- Open your device’s email application (Menu > Settings > Accounts > Add account > Email)
- Enter your Email Address and Password
- If you want this to be your default email account, click the corresponding checkbox.
- Click Manual Setup
- Choose IMAP (syncs better), unless you prefer the traditional POP3 type.
Incoming Mail Settings
- Username: Enter your full email address
- IMAP Server: mail.yourdomain.com
- Security Type: SSL (might be displayed as SSL/TLS)
- Port: 993 (If you chose POP3, make the port 995)
- IMAP Path Prefix: (leave go)
- Click Next
Outgoing Mail Settings
- SMTP Server: mail.yourdomain.com
- Security Type: SSL (Accept all certificates)
- Port: 465
- Require Sign-In: Yes
- Username: Enter your full email address
- Password: enter your email password
- Click Next
Options
- Set Options as you desire, below are recommendations
- Period to Sync: 2 Weeks
- Sync Schedule Every hour
- Peak Schedule: Every hour
- Sync Email: Yes
- Send as Default: If this is your main email address, then yes.
- Notify when Email Arrives: Yes
- Automatically Download Attachments on Wi-Fi: No
- Click Next
- Name the Account (whatever you desire)
- Enter Your Name (as you want it to appear when you send email)
- Click Done
Setting up email on a Nexus device
- Open your device’s email application (Menu > Settings > Accounts > Add account)
- Choose IMAP (syncs better), unless you prefer the traditional POP3 type.
- Type in your Email Address
- Click Manual Setup

- Type in your Password
Incoming Mail Settings
- Username: Enter your full email address
- Authentication: Should be set to password, with the password you just entered.
- Server: mail.yourcompany.com
- Port: 993 (If you chose POP3, make the port 995)
- Security Type: SSL (may be displayed as SSL/TLS)
- IMAP Path Prefix: (leave go)
- Click the next arrow
Outgoing Mail Settings
- SMTP Server: mail.yourdomain.com
- Port: 465
- Security Type: SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates)
- Require Sign-In: Yes
- Username: Enter your full email address
- Password: enter your email password
- Click the next arrow
Options
- Set options as you desire, below are recommendations:
- Sync Frequency: Every hour
- Notify when Email Arrives: Yes
- Sync Email from this Account: Yes
- Automatically Download Attachment on Wi-Fi: No
- Click Next
- Name the Account
- Enter Your Name (as you want it to appear in the recipient’s inboxes)
- Click the next arrow
